My aged, widowed Mum has some terrible raggy old clothes which she loves to wear when we go out as a family group. I'm not a particularly 'clothes' person (my kids are!) but my Mum in particular has some ancient things she insists on wearing. I would be delighted to replace them for her, even in an identicial style (but new) but she won't hear of it ... "these are my best!". How can I encourage my Mum to throw these old things and let me replace them for her?

My husband and I work full time. Baby stays with his mom 3 to 4 days a week. My husband's days off rotate so he usually has his "weekend" on weekdays. He often brings the baby to his mom on his days off either to visit or leaves the baby with her for a few hours so he can do whatever. Today baby has a Dr. appt. and my husband is thinking of taking his mom with him to the Dr. in case he "needs help" with the baby. He also had tossed around the idea of dropping baby off with his mom for a few hours in the AM so that he could get a few hours of sleep "in case the baby doesn't have a good night". I nixed that by offering to stay with the baby all night so he could sleep. So, I am very irritated with my husband for relying on his mom so much. It already breaks my heart to have to work full time and be away from the baby. I hate that we have to leave him with people all week long. Therefore on Sat/Sun and on my husband's days off, I would like us (as his parents) to be the ones to watch the baby. His mom gets so much time by herself with the baby....why does he give her more time on his days off instead of staying with the baby on his own? He complains that the baby prefers me over him and I want to say, "Yeah, because you never watch him on your own for whole days and nights like I do!" I also resent my husband's attitude a little. If I am up several times a night with the baby (which I am!) I don't feel the need to find a babysitter the next day so I can sleep! I just deal with it....I either go to work or if it is the weekend, I spend the day with the baby. Even if I'm tired. I like my mother in law and I like that she enjoys the baby so much. So why does this bother me so much? Am I being a control freak? Is this a gender thing where, as a man, my husband just doesn't feel comfortable with the baby for long stretches? Why can't I let go more? I always have this fear like my mother-in-law is raising the baby more than I am. And that my husband is contributing to that.

Girls will label a guy too nice as a fault to not date him, but is it really that he is too nice, or is it that he is boring? I would consider myself a nice guy, but I don't see how that is a strike against me. My theory is that it's not guys are too nice but boring. What I hear girls say about the bad boy is that they are adventurous, spontaneous, and fun. While the nice guy is shy, boring, or a mommas boy. I see myself as more of the adventurous, spontaneous guy, but a guy who shows plain respect and won't cheat on a girl. So is it really a guy being nice that turns you off, or Is it that the guy is boring that makes him finish last?

I had my eyebrow pierced less than a week ago (4 days) and somehow, in my sleep I managed to unscrew the balls and the barbell came out. Problem: I can't get it back in... I have tried shoving it back in... But I can only get it so far in from both sides... Never the whole way through. If anyone can help me out with what do do, I would be very grateful. =D P.S. It's not very cconvenientto go back to the piercing pparlor :)

I'm a 17 year old girl and I have been noticing lately that my 13 year old brother gets angry at the smallest things, he gets grumpy a lot, he can't seem to sit still and sometimes it's tough not to notice he often has an erection making a bump in his shorts. I know I shouldnt feel this way but I do. I have really low self esteem and I asked him to stop for my sake, my health. I was cutting myself and very suicida,l about feeling inadequate as a woman, after having my baby over a year ago. I knew he watched porn before we got together and I was ok with it. Then after having my son I got depression and felt totally disgusting and not good enough for him. I saw that he had been on porn alot while I was in hospital taking care of our son after he was born. Anyway that is when my bad feelings started. I told him to stop and we had alot of arguments over it. I even tried to kill myself twice. Not just over the porn but the feeling inadequate, him not supporting me enough with our son, him lashing out physically because I was upset and arguing with him. Anyway he said he wouldn't do it and I eventually believed he wasn't. It took along time to trust him and I believed he wasn't doing it. I thought he loved me that much and understood it hurt me. Anyway today I found him masterbating over it. In those few seconds I felt so betrayed and stupid. I'd asked him so many times if he had been doing it. We got into an argument about it and he tried to get me out of our bedroom. He hit me and kicked me and evetually I left with a few scratches and bruises. He said I made him do it. Anyway now I feel ugly, disgusting and that every he says is a lie. I have done wrong when it all was bad about a year and a half ago. I cheated on him. I felt that he didn't love me and he was hitting me and saying it was my doing. I had post natal depression and he made me sleep on the sofa next to our son. He didn't wanna get woken up because he had work. I had hardly any sleep and I was very suicidal. We sorted through everything after I cheated. We had put everything behind us. The only thing is if he does anything wrong he thinks he's in the right because I cheated. I can't keep being punished for doing something I can't change. Everything I've done since has been for him. I look after our son, I cook, clean, wash..etc. I never go out. I have no friends because I moved away from everyone I know for him. I just feel like ending it all. He says he wants it to be over but I don't. Everytime we have a problem he runs away from it or lies. He says he lies for my own good but the fact is I found out and now Im more hurt. I don't want to feel like this but I can't help being upset. He's lied to me for over a year. Please someone help me. I want the pain to stop.

when i pull back the arrow with my right hand and i extend my left arm (the arm i hold the bow with), my shoulder tends to shrug towards my chin. is that bad for bow and arrow shooting. i do shoot a wooden long bow if that helps

I have been with my boyfriend for three years, and I love him more than anything. He is my best friend and a wonderful boyfriend and I can't imagine a future without him, we plan on getting married in three-four years when we will both be out of college and law school (we are juniors in college now). He has my heart completely and I have no interest in looking for a new boyfriend. However, I feel lately like we are already married, and there is a reason we are waiting until we finish school, neither of us are ready yet. My heart is committed to him, and I have never cheated on him, but I would be lying if I pretended I am not interested in experimenting sexually with other people, simply for the experiences. My boyfriend and I experiment with a lot of things and he is the only person who can satisfy me sexually the way he does, but I am still young and I wish I had a bit more freedom to explore. Also, before I fell in love with him, I considered myself primarily a lesbian, but never got very far in exploring that before I started dating him. In the past, we have taken "breaks" where we were both technically single so I messed around a bit with other people but we never stopped seeing each other. I can't go more than a couple of days without seeing him. And when I messed around with those other people, I told all of them from the start that I was not looking for a new relationship, that my heart was already taken, and that I just wanted friendship/some sexual exploration. I never once doubted my future with my boyfriend or that I love him and he is the best sexual partner I've had. This is why I feel like an open relationship for a few months would be perfect for us. We are good communicators and have worked through jealousy and such before, and he is the only person I want to come home to, and I wouldn't want to give up what we have even to go on a break just for sexual exploration. I just feel that if I keep turning down every chance I get to explore my sexuality, I am going to resent him one day. And I know I have used the word "I" a lot, but this is about "we", I just don't like to speak for him, although he has told me that he is okay with it if I feel the need to have an open relationship for a bit. I guess I am just seeking an objective opinion on the best way to set guidelines/carry this out in a way that romantically I am still monogamous, I just have more sexual freedom (again, although I am using the word "I", both of us would have equal freedom).

I've suffered with Social Anxiety from a very young age. I have panic attacks in social situations, meetings at work, any group situation really..even family situations. I hate everyone looking at me and find eye contact difficult. I've always appeared as very shy to people although inside I feel i'm not all that shy. I know what i want to say but just find it dififcult to express myself. I'm sure I've appeared not too bright because of this which is very frustrating because i'm quite a competent person. I find work a struggle although somehow seem to manage, but just making conversation can be quite draining as I feel I have to force myself to engage in conversation, just to 'fit in'. I'd be quite happy to not talk to anyone all day but then i'd appear ignorant. Unless it's a topic i'm interested in I don't listen very well to people . I tend to switch off and then panic after that I didn't grasp what they were saying. I love doing things on my own..shopping, being at home, etc. I have a couple of friends but I really prefer my own company and find it an effort to be in the presence of other people. My hobbies are limited to reading, walking my dogs and browsing the internet. I'm pretty sure I have Social Anxiety but it's only when i'm around people.. so I just wonder is this because of Asperger's? School days were horrible. I always felt it was me and then everyone else. I just couldn't relate to people. I do tend to repeat myself about certain things, especially to family as that's who I feel most comfortable with. Over the years i've noticed I tend to 'mimic' what people say. It doesn't come naturally to me. Only in recent years I ask people about themselves, before it wouldn't have entered my head. I guess I used to see people as objects and now i'm realising that they they have their own life and feelings too. I'm also quite a perfectionist, especially at work and don't feel satisfied unless things are done 'correctly'. I'm just very confused and don't know what I am... any help / advice would be really appreciated! Thanks.
