It’s acreage reporting time . . . . . . . fill out your maps.
This is the first year that FSA is using a web based system for filing acreage reports. As with anything new, it could take a bit longer and there might be some minor problems. Please complete your maps, drop them off at the office and make an appointment to complete the certification. This should reduce the amount of time that you will need to spend in the office.
Please include all of the following information for each field: Crop & Variety, Intended Use (grain, forage, grazing, or left stand), Date Planted, and Seed Tags for all types of sorghum, peas, etc. All acres (cropland and native grassland) need to be reported to be eligible for benefits. Draw prevented planting areas on the map and provide an estimated acreage. Failed acres must be reported before evidence of the crop is destroyed. The acreage certification deadline is July 15, 2011.
You can also record bale counts, grazing dates, chemical and fertilizer application dates, and any other information that could be helpful when providing production evidence or applying for other program benefits in the future.
