In a novel I have nearly finished, there is a happy family: man and wife, a 6 year old girl and 12 year old boy. Now, the man is late from collecting the little girl from school one afternoon, and she has to join the after-school club. While she is waiting on her dad, there is a freak accident and she is killed. Of course, it wasn't her father's fault, but it wouldn't have happened if he had collected her on time. My question is this: 1) If you were the mother, what would you do - both in the short term and in the long term. 2) If you were the father, what would you do - both in the short term and in the long term. 3) My current working scenario is this: the woman can't help but blame the man for the girl's death - even though she knows all the circumstances. She divorces the man shortly after the little girl's funeral. She takes the 12 year old boy. She finds it too hard to have the man in her life again, and so tells him to stay away. To prevent the boy from seeking his father she tells the boy that his father wants a fresh start and finds it too painful to see her and the boy again. Of course, this is a lie and actually represents her feelings towards the man. The man drifts into alcoholism, and actually attempts suicide many years later. Is this sequence of events believable - or what modifications to it would you suggest in order to be more realistic? I ask this as a single guy who has no children. Many thanks for your help.

Basically, my hair was dark red, i bleached it with Live Color XXLby Schwarzkopf and it turned out bright orange. So then i dyed it black over the top of the orange. What do i need to use to dye it blonde again. Do i use bleach or a blonde hair dye? or do i use a white toner? or bleach it and then add the white toner to get rid of any different colours that could be in the pigments of my hair? please help?

Why does my girl get mad at me over small and stupid things. Example, I bought the wrong cookies at subways, she flipped out at me and I got an ear full. Another example, I asked for a pen to write down some information and i forgot to give it back to her. She stared yelling at me. Most arguments is because she overreacts and for some reason I end up being the bad guy and I apologize. I don't understand why some girls are so sensitive over small things. What should I do?

I like how Hawthorne Heights and Scary Kids Scaring Kids have like music that isn't really that heavy but still has the screaming I love. My favorite H.H album is The Silence In Black and White while my favorite from SKSK is The City Sleeps In Flames. I hear a lot of bashing on 88M,saying they are stupid,useless, wanna be infantry. I got a 90 on my ASVAB,and was enlisted as an Airborne Medic. I haven't shipped yet,but I'm switching because I'm going a different path in the civilian world when I get out. Yes, 88M will help me with the civilian career. however, I do plan on putting in 20yrs, do people ever do that as 88M? Is there a similar MOS I may be interested in?

I'm really trying to figure out what's going on here so please no "nice story" answers... So 3 years ago my best friend passed away, he was 21. The day he died I went into his house and I was pretty upset, I took one of his wifebeaters (it sounds creepy but I wanted to feel like he was still there) I've had it ever since,I have washed it. So yesterday I felt upset and I brought his wifebeater out of my closet, I talk to it sometimes, it makes me feel like I'm talking to him. After, I left it laying on my bed. Last night i brought my cat inside to sleep with me cause it was raining. Usually when I bring her inside, she is happy and she jumps on my bed, lays down so I can pet her and she falls asleep with me, but yesterday She didn't want to be in my bed at all! I'd pick her up and I'd put her on my bed and she'd wag her tail and run from my bed and stand on the floor without moving. At first I thought that maybe she just wanted to play with my stuff before jumping into bed. Then I heard noises but I wasn't sure what they were, my cat heard them too, and I started feeling like there was something else in the room, like the air seemed thicker. I picked up my cat a few times and I kept taking her to my bed but she kept and running away and from it and she began scratching under the door like she wanted to get out and her pupils were super dilated, she also began mowing, she usually does this when she wants me to pet her. I picked her up again and I put her on the right side of my bed and she growled at me, something that she only does when she is uneasy, in pain, or afraid, and she ran away from the bed again, that's when I noticed that the wifebeater was on my bed(the right side) it seemed like the cat wanted to get out so when it stopped raining I took her outside.when I was in my room I heard a loud noise, but it was coming from OUTSIDE of my room, it sounded like something had fallen down but there was nothing there.Can someone please help me?? What could this be??

I want to change my last name because i have no connection to my father and my mother has remarried so i wouldnt take her maiden name because she doesnt even that name anymore I just want to be my own person But then i was thinking i would like to change my first name too because ive never been that fond of it. I confronted her and she lied to me. Well, my friend was told by the other girl that the girl I liked said she liked her still. So I confronted her again and she denyed it then finally admitted it. She obviously was mad I busted her. She said we're not in a relationship so why does it matter? I said cuz you lied. She also said well wouldn't u of rather have a friend tell u i liked her then me? I laughed at her immaturity. She came over later that night and we talked. She couldn't stop crying and she knows she messed up. During this June Holiday, I didn't really study. I slack quite alot. and now school's starting in like 3 days? and I have not start on my homework. I am worried. I know I should start early but I just don't feel like doing it. so now I am starting to get worried whether I can cope when school's reopen. Cos when school starts, homework will start to pile up and I would do it till 2-3AM in the morning before going to sleep and this would go on and on everyday. How should I deal with this situation? I cannot manage my time well,that's why this problem happened. Don't ask me to set up a timetable. Hello :) Basically, I was on 3 3/4 meals a day and 3 snacks and a pint of semi-skimmed milk, and i was barely coping with that, (i couldn't eat a whole day of it) and i had been on 3/4 portions for about two weeks, and i haven't put on weight since i was diagnosed, ive just been losing it gradually. Today i went back and had again, lost weight. Just over half a kilo. I am trying and i want to get better, but then sometimes i dont want to get better. Anyway, they changed my meal plan to full portions, and at lunch and dinner i have to have a whole pot of fruit yoghurt for pudding instead of 3/4. And they told me that i have to have at least two digestives or the equivalent for a snack, aswell as like a piece of fruit or something (so like, two crackers with cheese, or two crackers with 4tsp peanut butter, one cereal bar/granola bar,) which i WAY more than i was originally having, and i could barely cope with it. anyway, i just feel like its too much all in one go, and i do nothing all day, and i feel bloated and fat the whole time and i hate it so much ... I just dont know if its too much too fast. Here's what ive eaten today: Breakfast: 2 apple cinnamon pancakes with apple slices. Mid morning snack: 2 digestives Lunch: 1 slice of toast with butter, bowl of lentil soup and 125g of fruit yoghurt. Afternoon snack: 2 digestives with 200ml milk, possibly half a banana. (havent had it yet) Dinner: full portion of main meal, 125g yoghurt, 200ml milk. Snack: 2 Digestives with 200ml milk. For snacks i might have like a cereal bar or something ... but it feels like its all so unhealthy, and full of sugar and fat, like for example, the digestives are full of sugar and fat, and if i have a cereal bar, they are full of sugar, and breakfast cereals are usually full of sugar, and pancakes are full of sugar and fat, and it just feel so disgusting and unhealthy, and like there is no balance whatsoever, i dont know i was just wondering, and i just dont know what to do, because ive done nothing all day, and i feel so unhealthy because i havent eaten healthy enough, and im scared and i know im ranting on, but i just dont know what to do .. and it feels like most of what im eating is unhealthy crap, and llike the snacks ould also be a cereal bar thats full of sugar and stuff, i just dont know what to do... I was sifting through some papers and I found my old Art Center( design college) admission pack. I immediately remembered the struggles I had to go through to get in, how even though I failed high school, stayed back a year and then failed university and stayed back another year. Yet I got into the most prestigious design school in the world with a double scholarship. I remember people telling me I couldn't do it, that I was a failure, I should just get a GED or just feed off my dad's savings. Its amazing sometimes to think you are so weak yet capable of such amazing things. So here's my question, have you had the same experience? Have you done something that nobody believed you could do? How did you find strength to achieve it?

When a guy says "Don't worry you will see me this weekend. Just relax it will all fall into place." what does he mean? In reference to only being ale to see him on the weekends and now this weekend he isnt sure "what day he will be over either Fri or Sat" It all doesnt make sense when he tells me he cant drive the 35 minutes to see at 3am when he gets out of work. Ok so im a woman and best friends with a man.we met in work and became so close told each-other everything he was almost like a brother to me!.He is a single father of two children.We went on a date last weekend with his children it was really fun and then afterwards he got a babysitter and brought me out to a restaurant which surprised me as i thought the date finished when we were done with the kids .which was very thoughtful :) but it was in the restaurant he actually began act strange like kinda panicky? then when we were on our way out before we got to the car he began bursting out feelings and told me before he liked me but now he loves me for over a year now and that i never noticed his feelings and he wanted a relationship but was afraid of me saying no and cares about me and so on . and i didn't know what to say he wasn't drunk either i was gobsmacked didn't say anything so all i did was kiss then he dropped me home and i thanked him and bblah bla blah! What's the worst thing you've ever seen or expirienced?? My friend told me how she heard a cat meowing in her garden for 6 hours nonstop, and when they found it, it's legs were basically hanging off. Turns out it was walking along the railway, and a train had come past and sliced it's legs off, the impact throwing the cat and it's legs over the fence, where it had slowly dragged itself to safety behind the shed, and cried for help for 6 hours. She took it to a vet, and they eventually put it down, but they never found the owner of that 12 week old kitten.... :( tell yours please :)

Ok. I'm recovering from anorexia. And I'm at the worst possible stage. I've been in an eating clinic for the past year and a half. And I've been in and out as a day patient and inpatient. In total, I've been an inpatient for 10 months. And I'm now back again as an inpatient. I've gained roughly 6-8 kg in total over all this time. And I'm told I have roughly 10 more kilo to gain until I'm at my goal weight. And I really want to get healthy. So I'm eating all my meals and absaloutly no activity. So I'm positive about recovery, but I'm feeling shit about my weight. It's just turning to fat. And I feel fat already. Like you can't see my bones. And I'm starting to get all this flab on me. Like love handles. And there's hardly any space between my legs. I'm just fat now. And I don't know what to do? Should I sign myself out of the clinic and try to hold this weight. Or what? How did you get through, coping with the body changes? I really just need some answers.... I feel so panicked and awful. I want to get healthy but I don't think I can gain anymore weight?

Hey I'm 19 years old healthy weight no major health issues. Around a month and a half ago I noticed I started to get a dull ache in my left calf, I figured this was probably due to being inactive (I sit on my pc alot) But the pain started to spread all over my leg and I rang a doctor and spoke over the phone and she told me it sounds like sciatica. I was like ok.. since then the pain has got worse, sometimes if I haven't been out for a walk for a couple of days I will get these sharp pains in my left thigh that will shock me because they catch me by suprise and it feels awful. I went to the doctor about this and he checked me over and said I'm a bit stiff and he said he doesn't think it's anything serious and that he thinks its sciatica.. I mean I've been out for a walk today and now that I'm back I've got pain all in my left leg and my thigh aches so badly sometimes. I don't have any symptoms of a blood clot though just the pain. My dad has had 2 blood clots in the past (one in the lung and a DVT) I don't think the doctors will take me seriously if I go back again I just don't know what to do. Am I being stupid about it or does anyone think I should get it checked again?:/

[ Diet & Fitness ] Open Question : How many calories should I eat for lunch?

I'm on a diet and want to know if I should have a homemade turkey burger for 160 calories or if I should buy a wrap that's 680 calories. I've only had 165 calories so far and have 1035 calories left to eat before exercising.

Whenever I see blood that comes from flesh, (not all those scratches and tiny blood drips out ) I imagine the flesh tearing and then first, I feel light-headed. Then I feel like I could not move. Then my breathing rate REALLY heavy, after which I tremble a bit hard. And I confirmed with my parents that one of them had hemophobia when they were small, guess that passed on. How do I deal with things like periods, mine haven't came yet. AND, I'm afraid that I wouldn't want to be a mother in the future since the 'fertilisation'>< makes blood come from there. I'm scared just by the thought. And when people give birth, there would be lots of blood right? How do I deal with it? Don't tell me to keep looking at blood. That's gonna make me die someday.
