My son has recently been a LOT more mobile than before. And my kitchen, although babyproofed, still has a thing or two which are off limit to him. Another thing is that he'd be screaming when put behind bars (gates), eventhough I'm right there in the same room in plain view. He's my first, so I'd appreciate to hear what other moms do. How's your experience?

Hey I am a college student who just finished up her first yr & the oldest of two siblings - sister who is 16 & brother 10. I'm trying to help out my brother & sister with a better night's rest. Growing up, our family had a lot of problems falling asleep (parents fighting at nights at a very young age, mom superstitiousness & stories of ooo the guest room or the room next to you is scary - her family's religion & she thought it was funny) & both of my parents do not have a set sleeping schedule because of their job. They come home very tired & it's up to the siblings to work together to help. But this impacted my growing up along with my siblings' night schedule - rarely do we get a good night's rest - sleeping schedule is not consistent at home & my brother & sister are afraid of sleeping by themselves because they are afraid of nighttime. They have to have the lights turned on, tv, & headphones (sister), & have me sleep in the same room as them (esp. during thunderstorms which I understand). But my parents are right next door, dad is sometimes up late downstairs, too, watching tv, but they still cannot fall asleep. But how can I help my siblings at this more grown up age to re-establish the "there's nothing to be afraid of at night" (Like I can say it & they know it, but psychologically, they still cannot fall asleep) & turn off the tv & lights without being another parent? (I do not want this to impact them more as they get older. I myself still struggle getting a good night's rest & have tried many methods. I got in a staying-up-late-&-lack-of-sleep routine bc of my busy schedule & load in high school balancing several extracurriculars, chores/errands, & looking after my siblings. I think they caught on my role modeling...(she got to stay up late so i can too - type deal) However, I'm better when I'm back in college (out-of-state) bc I'm able to take care of myself & set my own routine. Home is different story).

I seriously dread going to work everyday to the point where I feel completely hopeless. My job is so tedious and detail oriented. I have so much work to do because there were once four analysts doing the work I do and they have downsized and have only one person (me) doing all of the work now. I work 10-12 hour days without having time for a lunch break. My supervisor is a lawyer who is not in a law related position, but still acts like a horrible lawyer all the time. I make 1/3 what she makes, yet she expects me to work more hours than she does. If I make a small mistake (who doesn't make mistakes), she freaks out on me. I realize that feeling as extreme as I do about dreading going to work it is not normal, but I want to know if it is a normal feeling to dread going in to work. Also, if you want to help me out I would appreciate what you did to help this feeling. My performance is being effected and so is my personal life. Thanks.

i have 3 year old doggy and he was in the shelter cause he was hearting by peopleses the this guy got hem there he was going to put him back in the shelter but we got him .. he is Pomeranianiaan and keeshound.... the thing is the he loves play balls... especially soccer balls.... i want to take him to the park but the are alto of Play balls and soccer so he gos and get them he bite the leash and try to bite us cause he wants them no matter wath.... it was because the was the only toys when he was a puppy ......... so how can i train hem to dont like them i cant Special trainer doest doset let me please help me?

i remember that i use to check out this one book. i think it was mostly a picture book and its of real fruit and vegtables with faces. i think there was an orange with a puckered face and some couliflour (i dont know how to spell that vegtable; the white version of broccoli) that was i think lamb. its a cute childrens book and i want to know the title. thanks so much and sorry for the weak discription.

I just listened to about an hour of Tool ( a heavy metal band) through some high quality headphones and closed my eyes to it. I think it may be numbing my brain because after a while the images I've developed were grower dimmer and less effective.

My selections would be Kemba Walker or Brandon Knight, Chris Singleton, and Marshon Brooks. Or.. I trade away my 12th pick Chris Singleton (Assuming the trade with Washington is successful) to a team like the Minnesota T'Wolves who desperately need help defensively for a pick in the 2012 draft, which will be full of stars like Harrison Barnes. So, I had a grad student teacher last quarter and she was very nice and helpful. I never ask anyone for help because I always get anxious, but whenever I went to office hours for help, I realized that the teacher was very approachable and I improved and exceed my goal for that class because of her guidance. Because I was so quiet, shy, and nervous I felt like I was a little disrespectful because I rarely talked, so when she asked to send some info over email I decided to send a short "thank you" letter: Name, Thank you for your generous help this quarter. I truly appreciate your willingness to work with my final project as well as your clear and detailed explanations to my other concerns. In the end, it was a direct reason why I was able to improve and exceed my goal for this class! Thanks again. Name I would like to have said this face to face, but I know I would mess up so I do emailed this with the info she wanted. It's sad that the noly way I can show my gratitude is to hide behind walls and not face my teacher directly. Now, this quarter we have classes right next to each other so it is kind of awkward for me because I would get very nervous and look the other way whenever we made eye contact. Other times I'll walk right by when she was talking to another student without looking in her direction, even though I knew she saw me. The last time, she when she saw me coming her way, she slowed down to throw something in the trash can and when she turned around she stared at me directly in the eyes without showing any kind of emotion. Even though I was like 90% sure that it was okay to say something, I was waiting for a sign that it was okay whether it be a smiles, a nod or whatever, but in the end, I shift my eyes away and then she walks away. I feel really bad because she was my favorite teacher (and probably the only one who remembers who I am because I never approach or talk to any other teacher I've had) and helped me improve from a 3.4 to a 3.7 GPA in a class I seriously needed for my major. It's really sad and I feel like crying inside because I want to say something and I know what to say, but because I am nervous around anyone I don't say anything. It's really mentally draining, because I run conversations in my head and I promise myself each time that I'd at least stop and say something, but I end up freezing and get too nervous and just avoiding the situation every single time.

I wear eyeliner everyday and it takes a while to do it in the mornings and I hate when it smudges or runs even though it says smudge-proof and water-proof on it. I have tons of make-up but I want to use a Sharpie simply because it will last longer and I won't have to wash off every night and reapply every morning. In the future I will be getting permanent makeup (cosmetic tattooing), but for now I am thinking of using a Sharpie. What will happen while its on, and after it comes off? Thanks!

Throughout college I spent all my time either working or studying. I'm just realizing that I don't have a social life and the bit pathetic social life I have is because of my parent's church. So now I feel like I need to get away, be independent, and live my life the way I'd like to. But I don't know how to break away since I feel like I kind of missed my chance to do that by not going away to college. I stayed at home and commuted to college because I didn't think I could handle dorm life and my parents encouraged me to live at home and save money. Family is pretty religious and from another culture so a young woman my age who is single and moving out on her own for no good reason is really frowned upon. I don't want to do things to alienate myself from my family and church and basically everything I know when I don't really have any close friends to turn to outside of them. I also don't have a good job yet and I feel like I'd really be isolating myself. I'm thinking of going into the military because the idea of it really appeals to me and the potential benefits don't sound too bad but I feel like that's a too drastic decision for this issue. I've considered moving to another city where no one knows me. That way I could maintain my current relationship with the family by visiting from time to time. But I don't know where to start with that and I don't really have anything in savings. I could continue to live at home and just save enough for a car which would give me some freedom and more independence while saving money. But I'd still be at home. This is becoming a major issue because I'm now being pressured to go on dates with these guys from church. So what should I do?

I really want to sleepover at my best friends house on Wed, but my parents don't think I can because they can't leave my brother home alone while they are at work. I wouldn't get back on Thursday until like 3, so my brother would have to stay home alone until around 1-2 (when mom gets off work. She goes to work at 8). My brother is 12 and fully capable of staying home alone. He has before, but only for short periods of time. Personally, I don't believe it is much of an issue, but how can I change my parents minds, or make other arrangements for my bro? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.
