I woke up this morning at about 3 and found that my septum ring had come out in my sleep. When I found it under my pillow, I tried putting it back in but it wouldn't go, so I had to re-stretch my septum piercing with my 12 gauge taper. Is it normal for the piercing to shrink in size? I don't know how long it was out, but I would guess maybe an hour or perhaps more.

I work for a supermarket chain in the UK. I am a customer assistant on checkouts and I work 10.25 hours per week. I would like to increase the number of hours I work so as I can earn more and get more experience. They have been advertising a number of internal vacancies over the past year with a varying range of hours, nothing that suited me. Two months ago I spotted a job which did suit, I had the experience from previous employment, it was in a different department and for 20 hours. I was the only person who applied, however I was not given an interview but I was verbally informed by the line manager of the department that I could not be considered for the position because my current contract is for only 10.25 hours and they could not increase my hours! Through word of mouth, gossip etc, the staff in the store are saying that there is no point in applying for jobs with more hours than I currently work. I spotted another vacancy in the department I work in for 12 hours and written at the bottom was " if you currently work more hours than this and would like to reduce your hours or if you work in a different department and would like a change then please apply". We (the staff) have not had any letter or announcement from anyone telling us that we can only apply for the jobs advertised if we work the same hours or more. I believe it is forcing people out of the door to look for employment elsewhere. If i want to work more hours and earn more I will have to look for another job with another company. My employer have not recruited externally for 2 years now. They usually employ temporary staff over xmas but they didn't last year. Is this discrimination against part time employees? Are they allowed to turn you down for a job because you don't work the same amount of hours even though they have not notified us of this restriction. The company state on their website that they are committed to career progression and "getting on at work", but this is restricting my career progression. Any sensible advice would be appreciated. when i start up my car everything is fine but when i start doing 20 mph i feel a lil jerk back and forth. my check engine light lit up just yesterday for the first time ever. but once i go over 40 mph, everything is fine no jerking. need help what can i do.. change oil and filter and do the basics every time that's needed. need suggestions. read that it can be a transmission fluid flush or maybe even a new tranny. 2006 honda accord lx 93000 miles.

I bought my son a pair of shoes about 2 months ago. I bought them about 1/2 size too big. Within the next few weeks I am going to have to go buy him another pair. I thought they slowed down a bit after 18 months/2 yrs. When did your little ones stop growing so fast.

Okay so I just bought P90X and when people talk about the nutrition plans it all says it will help you lose weight, but I am actually starting the program because of how skinny I am, so if anything I am trying to gain weight/muscle mass. Will that happen following the regular nutrition plan since I don't need to lose any weight? Any substitutes/recommendations?

I bought car insurance in march 2010 and had to phone them to change my address. As presumed i had to pay administraton fee of £30 which i did not mind> On top of that they said because i have moved to another area it will be a further £194, when i have looked online with the same company (Budget) the insurance is only £240 for the year in the new area, so in other words they are gonna charge me over an extra 150 when it should only be 50 to be the same as the online quote. They have told me this is for new customers only, how can this be. So i have cancelled with them and now they say i cannot have a refund because i am breaking a contract, when i paid £180 upfront. Surely this cannot be right> I am going to complain to customer services, but who else will advise me of this as i will not let this drop, they cannot rip me off for £150 surely and get away with it. Any help please.

I have always been a top student. I am currently pursuing a masters from LSE. Today was my first exam and I am quite sure I have failed it. I need 50% to pass, and I barely even attempted half the paper. I will be mortified if I am made to re-sit- I will kill myself. It will mean wasting a year. It will mean dissappointing my family. People say that they normally dont like to fail students but I dont believe it. I worked so hard to get into LSE- I just couldnt work hard enough once I got here.I am so ashamed of myself- I cant even comfort myself by saying that I did my best. I could have done much more and I know it. I am just so tired of studying now and I am not even happy with my subject. I have worked too hard earlier and I have nothing left to give. I cant change my subjects now. I cant opt out of the degree because my mom has spent her savings to send me to London to study- which makes me even more ashamed. I didnt do it on purpose- I wasnt out partying or shopping- I was trying to study, but my subject is so boring and my mind is so exhausted that, all year I have struggled to get work done. My attention span and concentration levels have always been crap- but never as bad as this. I have an exam tomorrow which again I am not prepared for- what do I do? I wish I was dead.

I can still feel on the outside skin part, but on the inside, it feels numb, and i can push in and out and it feels numb. There is no pain or anything. I have pretty fair skin, and yesterday I was at the pool with my friends. I used sunscreen very liberally quite often but I guess not often enough. I got burnt and it hurts like a normal sunburn like I usually get when I do burn. But this time I have one or two white spots inside of the burn area. I don't know what it is? But it almost looks as if its a place where sun didn't hit? But there is no reason for sun to not hit there, it wasn't obstructed in any way. What do you think it could be? And if you are positive on whats wrong, whats a remedy to treat it? Plus, it's not a blister because it doesn't feel fluid filled and its not like up off of my skin. It's still like everything else, just white....
