Growing up as a first-generation American, I have always been awed by my parents' immense dedication and optimism. They left their homeland and came to America to give their children a better life, and did not give up until they achieved this. My parents have instilled these same values in me, which is why I take my academic career as a challenge and a chance to grow as a person. Nearly all students have moments when they struggle academically and personally, but my parents have taught me to push through these times and work harder than before. I also look forward to new learning experiences, because I feel that education boosts a person's maturity and intellectual capabilities. The ability to see things from outside one's own narrow perspective is a vital academic skill, especially for topics involving logic and critical thinking. Being raised  in a multicultural environment has helped me to acquire the capacity to see issues from different points of view which, in turn, has become a very useful academic tool. Besides hard work and persistence, I attribute a large part of my academic improvement over the last year to my bi-cultural upbringing. it's for college admission, so please help me out! this is really important to me.

Before my girlfriend and I started dating I was best friends with my ex girlfriend; which I will admit we did date for 4 years. However, it was more than a year ago when we did break up. We were really good friends and she was there for me through a lot. But, when I started dating my current girlfriend, she told me she was uncomfortable with me being friends with my ex-girlfriend. Although I would miss her as a friend, I could understand my girlfriends point of view--therefore, I stopped being friends with her. Even though there was NOTHING between us--at all. My girlfriend, however, has a guy friend who at first she told me she only had kissed before we met. However, I found out a few months later, that no more than few weeks before we met-- this guy was a guy she liked who she had casual sex with. I confronted her about it, but she said he means nothing and he is just a really good friend. She told me the only reason she did have relationships with him is because he told her how much he cared and so on, but as soon as they had sex he said he didn't like her like that. So, he pretty much used her. Therefore, I don't even see how he is a good friend. When I tell her I am uncomfortable, she just tells me I have to get over it. Do I have the right to be concerned? Especially being it was right before we met? And is she being hypocritical? I would really appreciate some advice.

I'm having an issue with my work. I have things circled in an excel sheet (I circle one of 2 choices on my excel workbook) when I go to save the page as a PDF, the circles themselves aren't showing up on my saved file. Everything else is normal on the saved pdf file except my circles. Why is this happening? How can i fix it? any help would be appreciated!

My elderly mother needs a colonoscopy but can't drink the laxative required to clean out her colon. Is there not an intravenious solution that could be given her that would loosen her stool to empty her colon. She has very bad burning when she drinks any liquids. She has gotten down to 74 lbs.

I'm only 15. I don't know if I need therapy, because what if it's just some silly exaggerated teenage thing? I'm not sure if my problem is real. I'm not sure what my problem IS. I don't feel anything. Occasionally, I feel sad. I don't feel happy, though. I mean, I think I don't. But what if I actually do feel happy but don't know it? I'm not sure what being happy means... I have a pretty okay life, not great, but it's not something someone would be unhappy about. And I do laugh. It's not like I'm all gloomy all the time. One of my friends thinks I'm depressed, so I went and looked it up online. Okay, some of the symptoms were there...memory and concentration problems, eating junk food (my thoughts actually go more like, 'I wanna eat some junk food'), suicidal thoughts, difficulty making decisions, perpetually tired, something b/w excessive sleeping and difficulty sleeping (I sleep LATE at night, so late that its actually early morning...but when I do sleep it's till noon), not being interested in stuff I liked before, feeling worthless, all of that stuff. But what if it's all in my head? Is there any way to know for sure that I have a problem?

When we got my male king charles neutered, hes put on so much weight! I looked up today that king charles should weigh about 13-18 lbs and hes 22lbs! We've been feeding him 3 small meals aday and give him 1-2 walks a day but he seems to be putting on more weight!! WHATS WRONG WITH HIM!?!!???? Suggestions please?

To all the females out there who are 5"2 inches tall... I was just wondering, how much do you all weigh? Im trying to see the average weight for a woman who is 5"2 inches. I know the BMI index does specify this, but their range is rather broad. Do you mind telling me your weight? Also, how would you describe your frame: Small, Medium, or Large. It's either: Solve log(x) = log(-2x + 5). Answer as a fraction. x= -5/3 x= 5/3 x=3/5 x=1/2 I don't really need people telling me "do your own work". I've done my work, it's just that when I study the problems, answers, and formulas, I want them to be right. Thanks.

I live in a area of london where it as Alto people from different cultures, segregation is now happening where i live.. Asian are sending there kids to Muslim only schools.. A local hall is being used for different events for different people.. one night it could be holding a african night only or asian or white night... people from other country's come over and do not want to integrate at all why does this country still promote london as multicultural if its not working its inner suburbs

i jog 4 miles. and i notice when i touch my face it feels like i have salt on it, and on my arms too. when it dries its all white, and also everytime after I workout i get these horrible throbbing headaches that last a long while, making my head feel like its going to bust. what could this be? and if i go to the doctors should i ask them to do a blood test? help please, thankyou. This girl in my graduate school classes we would always just look at one another for the past year. Lock eyes and not say much. My friends told her I don't talk a lot because of my past and she knows the real reason about my past. It's because I was severely abused and lost my ability to speak and everything. She knows I've had multiple concussions and things. Also during the school year I came to school right after getting out of the hospital, something went wrong with my meds, and she saw my hospital wrist band and meds by accident and she knew I was really sick. She is always staring at me a lot, it feels like she is watching me to protect me. But my friends say I'm very pretty and a lot of people look at me because of that. I personally think she looks at me because of all the bad things she knows have happened to me. I like her but she has a boyfriend and I doubt she'll ever leave him. What's going on between us? I know this story is a bit confusing.

My daughter will be two weeks old tomorrow and she spits up a lot. She didn't really seem to do it in the hospital but ever since we've been home she does. Yesterday alone she spit up enough to soak herself and me after eating. I do burp her during and after she eats. I try not to move her much after. So I don't know what else to do. I'm wondering if it's something in my breast milk causing it? Maybe something I'm eating? Any idea's?

Like say if someone is another race and acts disrespectfully towards you in a restaurant or store or something. Let's say that they have an attitude, but are not being explicit - like using an obvious racial slur. Is it possible that you may jump to the conclusion that they are prejudiced when they really just have a bad attitude and are taking it out on you individually, but are not racist? Would you bring up race in this situation, or just treat the person as an individual?

I have an antenna very similar to the Antenna NMO Amateur Dual Band except that the base has a wire attached to it. The wire is supposed to connect to another machine. Its connection is like a cable cord, except, instead of a thin needle, there is a thick, blunt needle. First of all, what does this antenna do? Will it allow me to get TV and/or Internet? How do I use it? What type of machine does it go into? etc. Please be detailed.

my natural hair is a mousey colour (very light brown) and for a long while i was white bleech blonde. i then recently dyed my hair darkest brown (it come out almost black) then when that started to fade a lil i put a plum colour on it. i'm wondering how hard it's going to be if i try get back to the blonde. and if anyone has any tips please be much appreciated.
