[ Mental Health ] Open Question : Could there be something wrong with me?

I'm a 17 year old girl. In the last few years I have noticed a change in my behaviour, although I am not sure that it is completely normal, or natural. About three or four years ago now, I became severely unhappy with what seemed like everything to me; mainly my appearance, I have always been on the larger side and tried various diets and exercise to lose some of the weight, but I'm not sure it was just the weight, I generally hated my whole appearance, absolutely everything. A combination of self-hatred, family and friend issues turned me to self harm (SH), which I am not proud of and I regret it each and every day. I continued to harm in various ways, un-noticed for what must have been over a year. Until my mother found out, she was distraught to say the least. After she had discussed it with my father they were both very supportive in trying to help me, I refused to see any sort of doctor or counsellor, but me and my mother tried classes that would help me improve my appearance, exercise and diet classes that is. Although I stopped the SH, I don't think I've completely got over it, after all this time. I constantly think about it and have considered doing it again, but then stopped myself because I knew what it would do to my parents if I started again. But, now I don't feel as though I have an outlet, to let out what I'm feeling. I get overly emotional several times a week, and cry for well over an hour sometimes because I find things too stressful. Currently, this is one of those times where I am on the verge of crying. I am very pessimistic in my thinking and always assume the worst. I have constant mood swings, like yesterday, I was hyperactive and happy one minute and depressed the next, my boyfriend (who doesn't know about my past) commented on it and tried to make myself look happier to hide how I was feeling inside – crushed – It can be difficult hiding how I feel from him, since he knows me really well, but on this occasion I managed it. I guess what I am trying to say, is this behaviour normal? Is it part of growing up, i.e. my hormones. Or could there be something wrong with me? Please help in any way you can, it would be much appreciated.

I probably know the answer, and it's might be just too obvious for me to accept it.. but.. Sometimes, after a dream/nightmare- I kinda go into something that feels like a limbo. I'm aware I'm dreaming, everything is dark and I can't wake up- my heart is racing.. and my whole body is numb, and then transfers over into a feeling that's as if my foot fell asleep over my WHOLE body. Any idea what this is? Just shock from a messed up dream? I have difficulty waking up from it, and when I do, I still feel the tingling and can't get rid of it unless I shake it off or move around in bed.. Thanks!

I was hoping that someone would have some advice for me. I've been with my boyfriend for just over 2 years. Things have been immensely busy the past few weeks/months, and we haven't had time to do anything 'nice' together for a while. We live about 2 hours from each other too, so we only see each other at weekends (though I do make the effort to go to see him every weekend). I'm not sure whether it's the fact that we haven't had real quality time together recently, or what, but all of a sudden (literally over night), I lost interest in the relationship. This happened a few days ago. This may be a temporary blip, but it has scared me. There have been big changes in his life recently- giving up his job, starting a new business etc, so a lot of our relationship has recently been dedicated to business plans etc, so I'm wondering whether that it's just the stress of it all, and it'll pass. Does anyone have any advice? Should I talk to him about it? Or just see how it goes for a while? He's quite stressed at the moment, and is quite defensive if ever I want to 'talk'.

I just got my oil changed and during the change the tech informed me that my car had the wrong kind of coolant. He was a little hard to understand, but from what I gathered someone (the previous owner would be my guess, I've only have the car 2 months) topped off the coolant and used the wrong kind. He said something about Dex-Cool being specific to GM models made after 1995? He was actually very helpful, but what I don't understand is whether or not my car is supposed to have Dex-Cool or some other coolant, or if it doesn't matter because my car was produced after 2004, because all my research suggests this was for vehicles between 1995 and 2004. I know very little about these kinds of things, I'm just a nerd with a computer and would like some more information from an unbiased base before I drop $80 to have my coolant system flushed (although I'd hate to drop even more to replace a water pump and a gasket!) Also how much would be reasonable to pay for flushing? If someone knows? He quoted me $80 for the coolant flush and a cabin filter replacement (I didn't even know there was such a thing, learn something knew every day).

I was all amped up and then I read a question on here that is similar to my situation and now I'm not so sure. What if he really is just nice. I mean he is a girl magnet. So the guy I like i've known at work for about a year. He's great. He's interested in some of the same stuff I am. When I am at work with him he gives me a lot of signs that he likes me. He's shy like me so it makes me feel like he understands me that much more. We hug each other at every interaction. We talk about different foods we both should try. The reason I'm back on the fence on telling him is because he never initiates a text. If I text him, he responds rather quickly. But when we happen to be on facebook at the same time, its like he jumps offline. It could be me over reacting but I will see him online and then a few seconds later he would be off....every time. When he's at work he'll say "I'll come down to see you before you leave" but never does. The last time he said it, I jokingly say "you know you say that all the time right?" And he said "Because...(boss's name) always has me working...he's like (crush's name) I need you to do this(imitating his boss's voice)" But everytime? SIGH, I could be looking at it too much though. He used to say "I'll text you later to see what you're up to" but he never did that either. I never understand why he would say he's going to do something if he doesn't really want to do it. I mean I don't ask him to say these things. He volunteerly says it to me. And I wouldn't even be thinking about it like that if he wouldn't have said it....GRRR! Not to mention I'm older than him by 5 years. (we're both of age so its not bad.) So anyway, I can list a billion things he does that makes me think he likes me including initiating hugs, walking the entire store with me, suggesting sorbet he likes and that I should try, giving me that "she's so cute" laugh when I do something slightly embarrassing, smiling at me, when he is on my end of our work place he touches me and says hi, I make him more nervous than normal and I make him blush...etc. I just really want to make sure I making the right decision in telling him before I actually do it. I don't want to make our working environment and our friendship awkward. What do you all think? Is he really just being really sweet or is there something there and should I tell him how I feel?

So I found this springer spaniel, it was on the middle of a road with no owner around so I threw it's stick to get it off the road and it followed me home. While drying it I crouched down and it sat closer but it's tail was not wagging. It then lay down on me, on it's back. I don't know what this means? I dried it like this. Left it and it started crying so I sat down across from it and it came over and it lay down on me. It didnt wag it's tail though. I don't know if it's friendly though because when it lies down it just looks at me so I don't know if i bend down to clap it if it will bite me or...? Any help?

My parents bought two Parakeets yesterday. This is my first pet ever and i have alot of questions that i need answered. The birds look small and costed $30 each. I have a blue one and also a greenish yellowish one. The first day they both didn't chirp at all. I would understand that because it is their first day and all. The second day the blue one chirps alot and the yellow one doesnt. The seeds i left in the cage arent even eaten. I put food in my hand and they eat out of that. They were a little scared at first but now they eat out of my hand, and i can pet them. Is that to much for a 3 day period i dont want to cause them stress. 1) How do i give them a shower? 2)How do they exercise 3)How do i know if they are sick? 4)Why does the Blue one chirp only? 5)Why do they eat off my hand instead of the little bin? 6)Can i pet them? I have registered my Portal 2 PS3 - PC product and now it's saying it will take 10 and 6 hours in order to install it... It also says it will take up some 11 thousand megabites on my computer... Is this really true? I'm concerned about downloading too much things onto my computer at the moment. What program components do I need to install if I want to get Portal 2 and create Portal 2 maps with the portal 2 sdk? Hi everyone! So, I am a 17 year old girl. I used to be the most popular girl at my elementary school (my school went to 8th grade), and my friends and I would always hang out. We would have bonfires, go and see movies, or just hangout at each others houses. But, around sixth grade, after my grandma died and my parent's began to fight (they don't fight that often anymore), I began to hangout with my friends less and less. We would still hangout, but sometimes I would decide to stay home instead of going over to hang out with them. Then, after eighth grade, I just kind of stopped hanging out with them. Yes, I made new friends in high school, but we still don't even hangout that much. My old friends, which I do still consider friends, will text me sometimes saying that they are going to have a bonfire at their house (they pretty much invite everyone in their contacts), but I don't go because I think it would be too awkward. But, I am getting sick of sitting around the house. My "new" friends, the ones that I have made in high school, and I live too far apart to hang out a lot, and I hate getting on Facebook and seeing the pictures from a party last night that I wasn't invited to. I am just so bored with my life, and I want some more excitement. I feel as if I am wasting my teenage years away.

So I'm 12 weeks pregnant and I'm getting a lot of stretch marks on my legs, up around the top of my thigh and back behind my knees I'm getting a lot. I'm very petite and I don't ever really get stretch marks... I'm putting my cocoa butter lotion on everyday and so far my stomach doesn't have a single stretch mark or any other part of my body, just my legs. Could anyone tell me why I might be getting stretch marks on my legs and no where else if I use lotion everyday on my whole body? I thought I'd get them on my stomach before anywhere else... Thanks
