2011 DCP August 1st Enrollment Deadline Quickly Approaching
Indianapolis, July 19, 2011 – Julia A. Wickard, Executive Director of USDA's Indiana Farm Service Agency (FSA) reminds producers that August 1, 2011, is the last day FSA county offices may accept and approve Direct and Counter-cyclical Program (DCP) and Average Crop Revenue Election Program (ACRE) contracts for crop year 2011.
Wickard explained, "It is critical for producers to complete the enrollment process as soon as possible. While most farm owners and operators have already enrolled their farms for 2011, several farms in each county have not been enrolled. We do not want our Hoosier farmers to miss this important deadline."
All signatures of producers receiving a share in DCP/ACRE payments are required by the August 1st deadline for the farm to be eligible to receive 2011 program benefits. It is important producers contact their local office to set up appointments well before the deadline.
For more information about the DCP/ACRE programs, please visit your local FSA county office or visit http://www.fsa.usda.gov.
