Acreage Reporting Deadline Fast Approaching
EAST LANSING, MI, June 20, 2011 - Christine White, State Executive Director for Michigan's Farm Service Agency (FSA) today reminded producers to submit their annual report of acreage (FSA-578) to their county FSA office. Producers must file their acreage reports by June 30, 2011 for fall seeded small grains and July 15, 2011 for all other crops, including land enrolled in conservation programs.
"An accurate acreage report is required for a majority of FSA programs,” said White. “Producers should visit their county FSA office as soon as possible to report all crops and land uses, including prevented planting and failed acreage.”
Programs requiring acreage reports include:

Farms that fail to provide a timely acreage report will be required to submit a late-filing fee to retain program benefits. Producers are encouraged to visit their county FSA office to file the required FSA-578 certification report before the deadline
