The 2011 acreage reporting deadline is July 15, 2011. If you have not made an appointment to report your 2011 acreage you must do so by the July 15, 2011 deadline. After the July 15, 2011 date there will be a late fee of $46 per FSA Farm Number. Note: if you already have an appointment past the July 15, 2011 date you will not be subject to the $46 late fee provided you keep the appointed date/time. Please call the Minnehaha County FSA for an appointment by the July 15, 2011 deadline.
Signup for the 2009 sure program will end on July 29, 2011.
Signup for the 2011 Direct Countercyclical Program (DCP) ends on August 1, 2011.
If you are participating in the Average Crop Revenue Election (ACRE), you must report your 2010 actual crop production by September 1, 2011 far all ACRE enrolled FSA Farm(s).
In 2010, USDA entered into a settlement with black farmers to address pending claims and finalized a historic settlement agreement with Native American farmers who claim to have faced discrimination in past decades. In February 2011, USDA announced a claims resolution process being offered that would turn the page on claims of discrimination made by Hispanic and Women farmers and ranchers who show they faced discrimination in the past
