More results released from EIA's 2009 Residential Energy Consumption Survey (RECS)
EIA has released the second in a series of benchmark estimates from the 2009 RECS. Detailed statistics on the Space Heating, Air Conditioning, and Water Heating characteristics of U.S. homes, as well as Household Demographics data are now available on the RECS Website.
EIA has conducted the RECS since 1978 to provide data on home energy characteristics, end-uses of energy, and expenses for the four Census Regions and nine Divisions. A threefold increase in the number of households included in the 2009 RECS offers more accuracy and coverage for understanding energy usage for all estimated States, Regions and Divisions.
The RECS was expanded for 2009, allowing for more precise estimates of key statistics and detailed data for 16 states. 2009 RECS Consumption and Expenditures data will be released in early 2012.
