On Interstate 75 south in Michigan, why are there destroyed tires on the side of the highway almost every ten feet? Why do people move them to the side and not clean them up? Why does this only start when you cross the Ontario border and stop when you cross the Ohio border?

I was reading my on my Nook last night and had it charging in the wall. All of a sudden the orange light started flickering to red, then to nothing, then back to orange, and then nothing. I pulled the cord out and put it back in, but the light didn't turn back on. I took the wall charger out and put it in another outlet. Nothing. I tried my phone charger which also works on the Nook and that didn't work either, so I know it wasn't the other cord. My Nook is now fully dead and I don't know what to do. Do I have to cal Customer Service? I got it in January. It's not that old, so it shouldn't be doing this. Will I have to buy a new one? Help!

When I was 15 I lied and somehow got away with getting a Monroe lip piercing. I took care of it and it didn't get infected. I've had it for about 9 months now, leave it out for a day and it closes up! =\ I can't re-pierce it myself because it hurts too bad to me and I kinda missed the original hole when pushing it through and now my right nostril is somewhat numb. I'm 16 now and live in the state of Ga.

Okay so I went hiking like two weeks ago and got a nice cut on my lower leg. I was a naughty girl and picked at it and because of that it got infected. The infection has spread throughout that area. It itches like crazy! I keep wrapping it in neosporen and then soaking it in epsom salt twice a day. My mom is a nurse and she has told me to keep soaking it in the salt, but I feel there is more I could be doing. I rather not go to the doctor. What more can I do? Is there a vitamin I could be taking? Help me out.

Ok so im sixteen and I definitely wont say im normal, because im not!!!! Everybody I know in my town usually have had sex by now and when they find out im a virgin they just look at me or say no way you are a virgin. I have been told that I am beautiful and very pretty, and ive always been tall. I am 5"10 now and im very curvey. I have boobs and an ass, I have an hourglass figure, and long legs. But im not skin and bones, im womanly. I look like a woman according to some people. I have to agree. I hate the style now days, I do my own thing, some days I like to get dressed up and other days I go for the hobo look. I am confusing in that way and I cant decide what my style is. Im kind of mysterious and I dont show to much. It seems to me that most guys dont notice me because i DONT fit into the stereotype of being tall, skinny and blonde. I have super dark long hair, and big brown eyes. I believe that sex is for marriage, and that its sacred. I might be considered a prude but thats how I feel about it. Despite everybody being to conformed to what others think is normal in my town, I do things my own way. i stand out and I am pretty sure I always have. It seems like people find my strange though, even though im really nice and funny. I am not conceited and Ill give anyone a chance. I think life is too short and that we should always give people chances because its always great to have diversity in your life. I also feel so much more mature than most my age. Help!!!!!!!! I dont wanna change, but why dont people seem to like me much ??

So my phone contract will be up soon and i was looking at mainly two phones (blackberry torch and the htc inspire) i have been told by friends that they don't like the torch and that it breaks easily so now i'm leaning more towards the inspire. But, I was wondering if the phone is too big? I'm a girl so I was wondering if I would be able to fit it in my pocket easily, etc. Does anybody have this phone with any feedback or suggestions? I was on vacation at universal studios when I was waiting in line with out my parents because they were hanging out at the hotels pool. There was no one behind me for a long time then I turned around and there was this really gorgeous girl behind me. By the way I am 14 I did not my any conversations with her but in the front I was talking to some others about the ride. They asked who old I was and I said 14. After are small talk I turned side ways not facing ether and she suddenly said hi and we talked for the 15 min wait and I found out we were the same age. we both ride the ride and afterwards we go off to other rides and we spent the whole day to together an the next we meet up ad did the same. I told her that I really liked her an she did the same. After one ride her parents showed up and said we need to go to the hotel and pack to get on are flight. She said go on and then she gave me a good bye kiss and hug. She did not have a phone or a Facebook so I will never see her again. And now I have dreams about her.

Last month, I was laid off from my job in a research lab, because my boss had realized that he needed someone with a PhD and 10 years of experience to do my job. He said he would be willing to keep me on part-time for a few months and had the funding, but HR wouldn't allow it. I decided to stay on as a part-time volunteer (which my boss was all too happy with) so I wouldn't have a gap on my resume, and I could possibly boost my boss's reference to help me get another job. There was another lab where I worked a year ago, that I really liked. I had to be let go because my former boss ran out of funding for my position, but I always wanted to go back if possible. A year ago, I called my former boss from that lab (I have a good relationship with him, he has always given me great recommendations when looking for jobs) and asked him if he would be able to hire me back. He said no, because he didn't even have enough funding for the people who were currently in the lab, but he told me I could ask him again in 6 months. Now, it's been a year. I have now decided that I want to go to med school soon, so rather than make a long term commitment to a full-time position in another lab, I would like to work at this one if possible (possibly even through temporary employment), even if it is part time. I am also hoping to get my master's degree started soon - I have been accepted into this program but never able to start due to a lack of funding. Really, even if my former boss doesn't have the money to hire me back part-time, I would be happy to just do unpaid research there that would potentially turn into my master's thesis. Even if I don't end up entering the master's program, it could still be valuable experience. I've set up a meeting with this former boss for tomorrow. How do I go about telling him all this? The truth is, I would definitely prefer to get paid, but I would be happy with just doing unpaid research in the lab as well, since I could benefit from it in the future. How do I convey this to him - that I would prefer to have a paid position in his lab, but I would be happy to do research there even if I wouldn't be paid?

So like a few months ago, my best bud was diagnosed with HLH, a very rare blood disease. 2 days ago, he had surgery, and his lungs collapsed during it. They put him on that thing that help you breathe. But today they did a chest x-ray, and found fluids in his lungs :'( Is he not gonna make it? ( he's only 12 )

I am a 14 year old girl. Ive always lived with my mom. My dad got remarried last year. The woman thinks she can rule the world or something! I used to sleepover every other weekend there. But it really got to a point were I didn't want to go anymore. I only got along with my stepbrother (he is 15) because he is nothing like her, so I still saw him but not her. I still see my dad occasionally, but I just don't go to the house because I don't want to see her. My mom knows that I don't see my dad that often anymore. So she asked me why I don't see him as much (I never told her any of it). So I decided to be honest with her. I told her that I hate the way my dad's wife treats me, and that my dad doesn't do anything about it. I also told her about an incident that happened a few months ago, because my dad's wife slapped me. Lets just say that my mom switched to her "mama bear" mode. She threatened my dad that she would battle for full custody of me. I know that I can decide if I want to keep seeing my dad or not. Don't get me wrong, I love my dad I just hate how he changed. He doesn't even care about how his wife treats me anymore. I think he really let me down, and I feel like he chose his wife over me. I just think that even though I love my dad, he just doesn't love me enough. His wife treats me like shit, and he just sits on his ass and doesn't do anything. I don't think I want to see my dad anymore. But Im afraid of regretting my decision. But I really think I don't want to see him anymore.But how do I know if I am doing the right thing?

Lately during the evening hours I always find myself craving sugar & caffeine, specifically coffee drinks. I'm always stopping at mcdonalds after work to get an iced coffee or a frappe or something. I work in a pizza place and we don't have air conditioning, so it's always between 90-105 degrees (crazy, I know) in the place because of the hot temperatures outside & because of the pizza oven. I stay hydrated and drink plenty of water, but why am I always craving sugary, caffeinated drinks?!

I am so desperate. My cat's name is Rudy, and he's this sweet orange cat. I miss him so much. He is an outdoor cat and has lived with us for 4 years. 5 days ago he just didn't come back home. I live in a pretty rural area with lots of wildlife and I worry that a coyote or another animal may have killed him. We have been looking a lot and we can't find him:( I don't think that he got run over by a car because there is no roadkill and he won't go near them and as I said we live in a pretty rural area. I left food outside last night and it wasn't touched in the morning. How can I bring this poor kitty home? Please help me
