[ Movies ] Open Question : What is this horror film?

Hi! OK, if anyone can get this I will be truly impressed! I think it is probably from the 80s, and the general plot is that this evil force takes over the town making them lose power and people slowly start being killed. Some specific scenes I recall: I think it starts with a guy attempting to pass through the Rocky Mountains in the winter, but as he drives his jeep along, and manages to adjust his carburetor for higher altitude, he enters into a town in Utah (perhaps), and finds that his car is mysteriously losing power, and ultimately comes to a halt. He checks in at a lodge, and it is pretty cold and snowy. Before you know it, it gets worse when the whole town loses power, and the loss of power appears to be related to a mineshaft that has recently broken into a crevice in the earth, awakening an ancient evil force that feeds on electricity, and maybe also on warmth. There are a variety of horrifying misadventures as the inhabitants of the small town lodge or inn get picked away, one by one, until two or three people remain, and one of them has the bright idea of trying to reason with the evil force, which is capable of animating some of the humans it has killed, and speaking through them. Google has totally failed me in finding it, so if anyone knows it I would be incredibly grateful! Thanks!

I am a student working part-time. Some person form another store came in to work at our store today, and it turns out he is more experienced than myself. Apparently he would be interested in working at our store. He is also a student after part-time work. The thing is, I am only required to work as and when I am needed and just to help out on busy days. At the moment my level of knowledge is pretty limited and there are a very few things that I am able to do to help out with in the store. Now today this new person who came in turns out to be quite good at the job - bit better than I am lets say. You see I kind of get the feeling that the manager may be using this person to replace me in the future as I am only on a zero hour contract! If they have someone else who can do better why would they want me! I haven't actually gone through all my training as of yet but if there is someone else from another store that has then why will they want to keep me on and train me up? What do I do?

I'm 17 years old, will be 18 in March. I've been taking the pill Hydroxycut for a few weeks, and now i'm up to 5 pills a day. I'm not actually overweight or anything, I use it as an appetite suppressant so I don't eat over 1100 calories or so a day. Do diet pills actually work for weight loss, or do they have bad side effects to them?

theres this guy who i just started talking to sunday afternoon. theres a thing on facebook of his that i liked and he replied: your pretty, cute, and you should text me. so i inboxed him later that night [saturday] and was like "hey so we should start talkingg." and he replied. "Yeah, okay text me (:" so weve texted sunday, sunday night, basically all day monday. then last night hes like "you should send me a picture." [clean] so i do and then i was like "now you should send one." and he tried but he said he sucked so hes like "wanna just skype instead?" so i go "sure." and we go from like 11 at night til 5 in the morning. he told me to text him when i woke up cause we both were about to litterly pass out. ha. so i texted him this morning at 10 and we were both bored so we skyped again. thats our story. noww the sucky part. hes super sweet, nice, yeahh hes cute, smart[i told him i sucked at math and he said hed help me this year but not to worry cause he wont try anything on me.] which i took as sex or whatever..? hah. anyways. hes a junior this year and ill be a freshman. hes really only a year and a month older than me. is he saying all the sweet stuff just to use me.? or is he actually seriously wanting a relationship.? ohh and i talked to his mom with him on skype last night and she seemed to like me. she knew who i was so he must have told her about me. meanwhile my mom has no clue i even talk to the guy. /: i have maaajor trust issues so i guess thats why im posting this. i dont want anyone to get hurt so please help me. thaaanks (:

My daughter is 21 and her son is 5 months and she leaves him with me a lot. This weekend, I need to travel a couple hours away as my nephew is having surgery and needs some items from our home. My daughter wants me to take my grandson with me. I will because she is short tempered and tends to yell when she gets frustrated...which is often. I get the feeling she is not comfortable being alone with him for extended periods without me being there. I pick him up from the sitter every afternoon because she works until 6pm and arrives home at 6:30. I feed him, bathe him and dress him when she is unable to...or doesn't feel like it because I know it should be done. Its like I am raising another child. She was not ready for this responsibility and I tried to tell her. The father of my grandson is just as goofy as she is....and is no longer in the picture.

Please actually read my last added details- you'll see I have protection from eBay if the car is a lemon, or the cost of fixing any one (undisclosed) thing is over a grand. I also have the option (through eBay) of purchasing a 3rd party independent inspection for $130, they take pictures, inspect it, test drive it, etc. and put the results online for me to see.

I use acne cream as well, but for a guy with an oily skin type, it's more convenient taking a dab of soap from a public restroom, spreading it across my face for a moment, and then washing it away with water. It doesn't even get lathery--just has to touch the skin, really. However, I may have read somewhere that using soap to clean your face can be ultimately be harmful. Is this true?

The tires right now are very worn down. We went to Les Schwaub and they said it wold be perfectly ok to put on two tires now and and two tires a week or so from now. So we had the rear tires changed, but they put in a different type of tire that was one size bigger (P185-60r-15 84 t... whatever that means). They assured us that the slightly bigger size would have no effect on the car. But when we began to drive it, it was fish tailing at around 50mph. Or anytime it was turned. Thoughts? We're taking it back to Les Schwaub today to see what they have to say about it.

Okay, i found out that i was starting to sweat A LOT in November 2010 at a friends party when i was wearing a bright blue top and its been getting me down for months. I am always wearing jumpers and cardigans in school and get jealous of the girls and teachers who can wear shirts with no big giant see through patches coming past the arms. I was always fine and i use deodorant every day. I sometimes have to wear fleeces when going into town and then i start sweating so i cant take them off. But at dancing at the weekend there i had my leotard and a floaty sleeveless top and i had no sweat marks just my leotard was damp i was so thrilled to be able to take my jumper off and dance :D! This week we started back at school and in the morning when i get ready i don't sweat and when i'm in school i do. Yeah i'm self conscious and a bit shy but who isn't? i don't have problems in school so i don't think it can be related to that :s!? I can wear vest tops around my house cause i don't sweat, right now i'm bone dry but as soon as i'm in school its giant patches! I had to get an award in front of my year and above plus all mums and dads and we weren't allowed to wear jumpers i was so scared and i told a couple of friends and they were like you'll be fine and it kinda dried so im not sure if its the jumpers and i don't want to not wear one in case i do sweat and have nothing to cover it with :s! i hate p.e. getting changed so i take my cardigan and shirt off together but my p.e. tops just have wee marks under the arms. At another party my friends were like ew look at your sweaty armpits so i don't want to take my jumper off and i get told to take my grey jumper off in school so i slouch in my chair so no one can see im just fed up and i dont want to go to the doctors because my mum knows i sweat but doesn't do anything she just says i need to stop getting my shirts yellow :o! I know its a lot but please please please help me is there deodorants i could try or any natural simple things to do? I don't want to buy books :/ I'm 15 by the way if that helps? Thanks <3

Yes it's decent, but out of all of the professional brands, it's far from the best. I love their lipsticks and eye shadows, but their eye liner smudges, their mascara is garbage, and their foundation is cakey. Why is everyone so in love with MAC when there are much better brands out there?

Hi, my 2 years dachshund all of a sudden in morning started to stick with my brother, its strange cause he usually always stick to my mom cause she is the one to give him his food, but never once in 2 years he sticked to my brother. Im really worried cause now all of a sudden if me or my mum tries to pick him up to take him away from my brother, then he tries to bite us and barks on us, not only this when my brother went to take bath then he was crying non stop in front of the bathroom. And he cries when my brother goes out of the house. Yesterday me and my mom had gone out for like 8 hours and had to leave him with my brother, after we came back late at night we gave him his food and went to nap, and from morning he started to stick with my brother, he is jumping on him, running around him and when we try to take him away from him then he bites us... What is wrong with him? Any one has ever had such experience with their dog? Is he sad that we left him or is their any chance of any disease or anything?

She wouldn't do it over the phone and said it had to be in person ... I walked in her apartment and she gave me a big hug. We sat down and the words "I want to break up" came out ... I said "OK anything you wanna say?" she looked at me and then burst into tears. It was weird. I don't think she lost interest because I feel like she wouldn't have cried and I would have seen it coming but her interest level was high until about a week before the breakup. Is it more likely that she lost interest or that she wasn't happy with how I was treating her. I didn't text her a lot, I never bought her flowers or chocolate and I'd only go over late at night ... I know she didn't cheat because I asked her a few days after all that she said was "Things didn't feel right and when I feel that I don't want to be with someone anymore. It's weird because I figured we would have lasted longer." I find it bizarre that she hugged me and then burst into tears. I also know she isn't seeing anyone new What happened?
