Emergency Loan Program and Disaster Debt Set Aside Program Available in Puerto Rico for Municipalities Declared as Disaster Areas Presidential Major Disaster Declaration M4004, Amendment 1

Juan M. Ortiz-Serbiá, State Executive Director of the USDA - Farm Service Agency announces that the Agency has Emergency Loans and Disaster Debt Set Aside Programs available to assist producers to recover from production and physical losses caused by severe storms, flooding, mudslides and landslides that occurred from May 20 thru June 8, 2011.

Amendment 1 of the Presidential Major Disaster declaration includes the following Primary and Contiguous Municipalities in Puerto Rico which may qualify for Federal Assistance:

Puerto Rico Primary Disaster Municipalities:

Yabucoa

Puerto Rico Contiguous Disaster Municipalities:

Humacao
Las Piedras
Maunabo
Patillas
San Lorenzo

Applications for Emergency Loans and Disaster Set Aside can be filed at this moment and must be received by March 28, 2012. Producers are encouraged to visit FSA local offices, participate and meet the program requirements as soon as possible.
