Noninsured Crop disaster Assistance Program (NAP)
Deadline date to apply for coverage for NAP for 2012 crop year is as follows:
September 30, 2011 for Rye
December 1, 2012 for Honey and Grapes and other covered fruits and vegetable
March 15, 2012 for alfalfa and grass seed, forage seeding, grass hay, grazing forage, and all other spring seeded crops
Service fee is $250 per crop not to exceed $750 per producer per administrative county, not to exceed a total of $1,875 for a producer with farming interests in multiple counties.
As a reminder it is important to file a notice of loss within 15 days of the disaster occurrence or date the damage to the crop or loss of production becomes apparent to you.
Noninsurable commodities on a farm are required to have coverage in order for producers on that farm to be eligible for the Supplemental Revenue Assistance Payments and Emergency Assistance for Livestock, Honey Bees, and Farm –raised Fish Program.
