Agriculture Secretary Vilsack to Give Keynote Address on Cooperative Agricultural Research and Education at Chicago Council on Global Affairs Event

 

WASHINGTON, May 23, 2011 – TOMORROW, Tuesday, May 24, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will give a keynote address at a Chicago Council on Global Affairs event entitled, “Feeding the World: How Partnerships and Innovation Drive Real Results.” The purpose of this event is to review progress on the U.S. government’s global food security strategy; discuss how long-term U.S. public and private sector support for agricultural development can advance global security, stability, and economic prosperity; and offer constructive thinking on future implementation challenges. Vilsack’s remarks will mainly address the U.S. government’s and USDA’s coordination and support for cooperative agricultural research and education.
