completely agree with Bambam regarding his advice to seek professional evaluation/advice.
It is known that it's progression can be slowed down if detected early enough. so, timely/early intervention may make huge difference- may add several years to healthy life!
all this stuff can go on in parallel. but it is no substitute for early intervention from a professional who knows latest and the best way, best strategy to deal with it.
loss of time to reach best solution may not be compensated by anything..
BTW, some of the symptoms appear even 5-10 years before the actual disease, like difficulty in balancing the cheque book, and perhaps, counting currency.. (like, at grocery store).
i read perhaps a few years back, some blood test can also detect changes which predict AD.

i defer to my previous statement about the most imperative action: get
professionally evaluated by a reputable alzheimers research facility.
Len,
I really dont know how else to try to tell you the situation.
I will try this..........
Let us suppose you have heart disease..........imagine if you decided
to eat 5 tablespoons of margarine a day thereafter because you heard
it can make you a happier person.
That is basically what you are doing with MgT as it relates to the
DISEASE called Alzheimer's.
If you really think you may have alzheimers (about a 5%-10% risk from
50yrs-85yrs old), you need to be professionally evaluated IMO, perhaps
a SPECT test and short-term memory test by appropriate clinician.
Alzheimers is a chronic, PROGRESSIVE, degenerative disease--MgT will
not do ANYTHING to affect the progression of the disease itself.
Deterioration can be rapid...........but i see many ppl expire after
about 10yrs after diagnosis.......death from secondary assault
usually.
To be fair, there are no ESTABLISHED accepted
interventions..............
I can tell you what MIGHT help (as in prevent or slow progression), in
what i feel is the correct order of intervention that must be cleared
by a physician:
1. cardiovascular exercise, 75% maximal target HR, 35minutes a day,
5days a week
2. DNB training, TNB training--30minutes a day, at a level that is
very difficult for you, 5days a week--this should provide much mental
stimulation/plasticity--it is IMPERATIVE, imo, to stay very mentally
and socially active.
3. Quality fish oil like minami EPA-plus
4. A couple tablespoons of olive oil a day with food
5. A glass of red wine every night
6. A handful of organic blueberries every day
now, the following might be beneficial, just an opinion, and i have no
idea if it is true:
Learn to play the piano vigorously and proficiently and play 3 times a
week, an hour a day, ad infinitum
Consider 1 capsule of longvida curcumin every 8hours on an empty
stomach
If i thought i was going to get alzheimer's, you can bet your arse i
would take that particular curcumin...........but i would probly take
TWO capsules every SIX hours on an empty stomach.
i have no idea if it is efficacious in the human for AD, but it has
other benefits anyway (anti-tumor/cancer, anti-inflammatory)
