maybe. it could just be an 'opportunity'/resource issue.
the affluent (and this can be correlated with IQ as can poverty, to
some degree) seem to give 'handouts' to the 'needy' (humanity on one
level).
this could be simply because they have the means to do so, and if
those in the lower class to upper lower class had the same monetary
means, that they too would be just as benevolent/generous.
But ppl like Carl Sagan strike me as being humanitarian despite their
lack of wealth.........
who knows.........
but there may be some small effect/correlation
