Posted: 25 May 2011 01:30 PM PDT

they both have anti-depressant properties and may work on the same brain chemicals which have to do with mood. so i would like to know if there is a synergy between these two herbs? i can't seem to find much about the interaction between these herbs. also, i've taken st. john's wort before and noticed little difference in my depression, and i am currently taking them again so i am hoping that rhodiola rosea will boost its effectiveness, and in turn have its own effectiveness boosted.

She said she was ginving me a "taste" of the kind of people they are. She went on about their backgroud ( details I did not want to know about). Aparently, her friend had a baby with her then boyfriend. Some of them are not citizens. Some of them "carry on" - one of them had a birthday party at a social club. would you say these are bad people to be around? What, then, counts as a "good person"? I am sorry if this is confusing, it had to do with an incident afew weeks ago. I will give more details if you ask. Note, this question is for people who have experience living around lots of other people different from them. Thanks.

[ Family ] Open Question : How do i get my mum to stop behaving like this?

Posted: 25 May 2011 01:29 PM PDT

My mum drinks a lot and i would probably say she was an alcoholic. I think she drinks around 3 bottles of wine a night but she hides it so it is difficult to tell. She gets very aggressive when she's drunk and yells at my sister and me, once she hit me round the face and a few weeks ago she locked me in my room with my little sister. I am 15 and my sister is 8 but she is fully aware of the situation. Mum is often drunk when she picks up my sister and often embarrasses her. She falls asleep early evening so i am forced to look after my sister, i have no life of my own. I don't live with my dad, but i see him regularly and him and my mum get on. He wants to talk to her about it but i don't want them to fall out. My mum has before threatened to leave home and run off, leaving us alone. This upsets us, especially my sister. I once seriously considered running away with my sister, but i thought this may make the situation even worse. My sister and i are very close but i sometimes snap at her, which i know is wrong, we are just under a lot of pressure. My school know something is wrong and have asked me many times, but i just shrug it off. One of my sisters teachers reported my mum to social services for being drunk at school, but they took it no further. I need help i have no idea what to do, the right thing for me and my little sister, before one of us is seriously hurt, physically or emotionally. Please give me some advice

[ Books & Authors ] Open Question : Opinions on this writing scenario?

Posted: 25 May 2011 01:29 PM PDT

I was thinking about the research aspect of writing and I started wondering about this: If you're writing a book in which a character uses drugs, is it okay for you to try this drug yourself? Let's say you have no interest in getting high, but you want to write about someone's experience with cocaine. Obviously you could do book research but it's not the same as a first-hand experience. Would you, one time only, try it for the sake of research? Or would you decide it's not worth it and stick to book research? Would it depend on the drug? Does one joint seem okay but meth is way over the line? As a writer, how far are you willing to go in research?

[ Skin Conditions ] Open Question : Is this prickly heat or something else?

Posted: 25 May 2011 01:29 PM PDT

This is probably gonna be a lot of information, but i figure itd be best to give the whole story, so please bear with me For about the past two years whenever ive been subjected to heat (either the weather, workout, or from me getting nervous) my skin (my torso and scalp) would get incredibly itchy. Ive also noticed that only in certain spots my chest and around my stomach would have red blotches, i would also feel it on my back and shoulders and my head too. This would even happen in the shower. Usually the itchiness would last until i cool down or i somehow make my body sweat. I usually dont sweat when i get hot though. I ran cross country and track when i was in highschool and only my head would get a little itchy, but it would go away after awhile and wouldnt come back. It seems though, ever since i quit, the itchness has traveled down from my head to my chest and back and the itchiness has seem to become more severe. Could these things be related? Ive gone to the doctor and i was first diagnosed with seborrhea and then prickly heat, but it seems for prickly heat people get blisters and i dont. Does anyone know what this might be?

[ Religion & Spirituality ] Open Question : Why do people think Christians are fearful of homosexuals?

Posted: 25 May 2011 01:29 PM PDT

Christians do not FEAR homosexuals or homosexuality. Quite the opposite. We realize that Christ died for their sin just like other sin commited by each of us. There is no phobia when it comes to sexual sin, however. The gay lifestyle is outside of what God intended marriage to be. Between a man and a woman. This belief is not something just pulled out of a hat. This belief and knowledge is a part of what has been handed down to us in God's word. We cannot accept part of God's law and not accept another just because it is not a popular view in a current society. God's view of marriage has NEVER changed and NEVER will. Now be honest with yourself...........did any of that sound fearful to you? No phobia here, my friend.
